Frequently Asked Questions

Participant Services

Who Is Eligible For Services

BuildAbility primarily serves adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) who are eligible for support through their local Regional Center or the California Department of Rehabilitation. If you’re unsure about eligibility, we’re happy to guide you through the process. You can reach us through email here!

How Do I Get Started

Start by contacting us or speaking with your Regional Center Service Coordinator or Department of Rehabilitation counselor. Once a referral is made, our team will connect with you to learn more about your goals and find the right program fit.

Do Participants Get To Choose Their Goals And Activities?

Absolutely. All of our programs are person-centered — meaning participants take the lead in defining their goals, interests, and preferences. We’re here to support them in building a life that reflects who they are and what they want.

Is Transportation Provided?

Transportation availability varies by program and location. We work with families and Regional Centers to explore options and support access to services whenever possible.
