Employment Services

Program Goals

Funded by the CA Department of Rehabilitation and Southern California Regional Centers, our Employment Services support individuals with intellectual disabilities in finding and thriving in competitive, integrated jobs.

Through personalized job placement and informed choice, participants are matched with roles that reflect their strenghts and interests. One-on-one job coaching helps build essential workplace skills, with support gradually decreasing over six months to promote independence and long-term success.

Supported Employment (SEP) connects participants to meaningful, competitive employment in their communities. Through one-on-one support, job coaching, and ongoing advocacy, participants gain the tools they need to succeed and thrive on the job.

Each person’s journey is unique. Some participants are entering the workforce for the first time, while others are building on past experience. Our SEP Team support every step, from discovering interests and preparing résumés to practicing interview skills, learning job tasks, and growing long-term in their roles. The goal is always the same: meaningful, lasting employment that fits the individual’s goals and strengths.

BuildAbility also partners with local employers to create inclusive workplaces. Businesses benefit from access to a motivated, reliable workforce and the support of a dedicated job coach to ensure success for both employee and employer.
